Our class representatives

8 01 2010

In Key Stage 2 we get the opportunity to have more of a say in what happens in our school. We choose some of the children to represent us and our views. We have 3  representatives for different areas of the school.

We held class elections to choose who we thought was best for each role. Each candidate prepared and then read out a statement telling us why they would be good to do the job, we then decided who we thought would best represent 3S and did a secret vote, here are the 3 elected representatives for 3S.

School Counsellor:

Ismail Miah

To be on the school council is a big honour, it is upto this person to represent the classes views to the rest of the school. This person must stand up in front of lots of other older children and teachers and discuss the views of 3S. We needed someone who was not afraid to speak their mind, who would listen to other childrens arguments and report back to the class about what was said at the meeting. We chose Ismail, because he gave a wonderful speech and convinced us he would stand up for our class and try to get our opinion heard.

Eco-Schools:

Maisha Choudhury

This job involves being part of a group of children who work together to make sure the school is eco friendly, and that we take part in initiatives to make the school and surrounding areas a better place to be. We needed an active representative who would be good at getting things done and always help out. We chose Maisha because she is always in, and always tries hard with everything she does.

Healthy schools:

Asim Mulk

Healthy schools is a new group that has been formed to meet the new health push that schools have been trying to implement. The child who is on this panel must be interested in this area and want to live a healthy lifestyle. We chose Asim because he is an active boy who enjoys sports, eating healthy and living healthy too.

We felt these 3 children would help us give our opinions the best, although there are many other children in the class who could do the jobs brilliantly as well.
